Windows 10 update: What to expect this fall

Love them or hate them, Windows 10 updates happen. It is all part and parcel of using Microsoft’s latest and greatest desktop operating system. Rather than giving us a finished OS like with Windows 7 or Windows XP, Microsoft decided to give us a constantly evolving operating system that updates every now and then.

Since it first launched, we’ve had a few Windows 10 updates already and many new features have been added to the Microsoft operating system. Now, however, we’re looking forward to the next Windows 10 update. Let’s have a look at what we can expect from the Windows 10 Fall Update.

It looks like the fall update will be called Windows 10 Redstone and that it will come with some neat new features and somewhat surprising updates.

Windows 10 Notepad update
Windows Notepad offers a bundled, much stripped down, version of word processing to all Windows users. Notepad hasn’t received any update attention from Microsoft for years, but this fall it will get some useful new features.

Text zooming is now possible and there is also an update to find/replace so that it will remember old search terms and automatically fill out the search field if you open it up while you have highlighted text. Other Notepad updates include Ctrl + Backspace to delete the previous word, improved performance on larger files, and displaying line and column numbers if requested.

Big Windows 10 Edge update
Microsoft’s new browser actually packs quite a punch. It is quick and reliable and offers a decent reading experience compared to other browsers. With the new Edge update, Microsoft is doubling down on this unique selling point. There will be a brand new built-in dictionary that includes a read-aloud feature so users can hear how words are correctly pronounced.

If you use Edge as your PDF viewer you’ll also see a host of updates when the Redstone update drops. There will be a considerable toolbar update to the toolbar making new options like Add notes much easier to access. You’ll also be able to pin/unpin the PDF toolbar and there will be far fewer rendering issues when scrolling through different pages.

Windows Biometrics update for business
In a cool update for Enterprise, The next Windows 10 update will bring with it the ability to log in remotely using biometrics. Windows Hello for business users will gain this handy new feature. A Fast Sign-in feature has also been added, which will help people using a shared or guest Windows 10 device.

Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mimoh gets married, out on bail in rape case.

Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahaakshay Chakraborty aka Mimoh tied the knot with girlfriend Madalsa Sharma in Ooty on Tuesday. The actor earlier received bail in the rape case of a Bhojpuri actor.

It is reported that Mimoh got his marriage with southern actress Madalsa Sharma registered on July 7 after he was granted bail in the rape case, as per a report in Bombay Times. The traditional wedding ceremony took place on Tuesday afternoon at Mithun’s luxurious hotel in Ooty, Tamil Nadu.

A court in Delhi had earlier said that prima facie there are sufficient grounds for registration of an FIR against the actor’s wife and son, and to proceed further in accordance with the law. Following the order, Mahaakshay and his mother approached the Bombay High Court seeking anticipatory bail or an interim relief from arrest till the time they approached the concerned court in the national capital.

However, the court dismissed the pleas and refused to grant them any interim relief and said the duo could approach the court concerned in Delhi.

Prassthanam motion poster has Sanjay Dutt warning of a new Mahabharat
In her plea, the complainant had alleged that Mahaakshay had cheated and raped her after being in physical relation with her for around four years on the pretext of marriage. The woman alleged that when she became pregnant, Mahaakshay had given her some medicine which led to an abortion.

In her complaint, she claimed that Yogeeta Bali had threatened her of dire consequences if she continued the relationship. The complainant also said she moved to Delhi from Mumbai as she feared for her life in view of threats made by Bali and her son.

Anushka Sharma becomes the first Indian to get a talking statue at Madame Tussauds

Anushka Sharma is riding high on success after she produced three films in three different genres: NH10, Phillauri and Pari. Not only she has established herself as a mainstream Bollywood actress but also has opened the gates of new avenues for different genre of films by foraying into film production. It was this year itself that Anushka got featured in Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2018 list. There’s another good news coming her way as the actress is getting a unique interactive figurine at the coveted Madame Tussauds museum in Singapore.

“Yes, it’s true that the wax museum is set to unveil an interactive statue of Anushka. Madame Tussauds is extremely selective when it comes to zeroing in on the personalities that gets a unique interactive feature. Thanks to the special figurine, she joins the list of illustrious global icons such as Oprah Winfrey, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lewis Hamilton who also have their interactive sets at the Singapore museum,” says an insider.

“In fact, hers will be the first wax statue in Singapore museum with this feature. It’s a new interactive feature that Madame Tussauds is introducing with her figurine. It only proves her popularity across countries because only a handful of global power leaders and icons have such interactive features with their statues,” said the insider.

Talking about this latest addition to Madame Tussauds Singapore, Alex Ward, General Manager of the museum said, “She will have the first talking wax figure. Not just families, we also see many young adults from India coming to our attraction, and this is a great opportunity for us to cater to that audience. Anushka has been frequently requested by our guests and we are sure that she will be an incredibly popular addition to our attraction.”

On the work front, Anushka Sharma will be next seen in Sharat Kataria’s Sui Dhaaga opposite Varun Dhawan. She also has an important role in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Zero which is slated for December release

Fanney Khan song Mohabbat: Aishwarya Rai is our desi Madonna.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gets to play the star that she is in new Fanney Khan song, Mohabbat. Playing quaintly named Baby Singh in the film, she plays a rock star who is on a national tour. Oozing sensuality as she addresses the audience -- some of the audience may be reminded of her character in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil -- Aishwarya makes quite an entry on the stage and moves on to her stylish performance. While it is a completely new song, the hookline has been picked up from Noor Jehan’s song Jawaan Hai Mohabbat from the movie Anmol Ghadi. The 1946 song was composed by Naushad.

Much has been said about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan working with star choreographer Frank Gatson Jr for two songs in her upcoming film Fanney Khan and this is the first. Gatson has worked with pop stars Beyonce, Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez, among others, in the past.
Titled Mohabbat, the song introduces Aishwarya as rock star Baby Singh. Irshad Kamil has penned the song for the Fanney Khan number while Sunidhi Chauhan has lent her voice. Talking about Aishwarya’s introduction to the film, director Atul Manjrekar told DNA, “Aishwarya plays a diva, a singing star. She’s the number one singer and the most beautiful woman in the country. The song sees her character touring across India and performing in front of a live audience. For the sequence, we referenced recent concerts that featured Arijit Singh, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay. That was the starting point.”

Rumoured to be a remake of Everybody’s Famous, the film is slated to hit theatres on August 3. The Dutch movie starred Josse De Pauw, Eva Van Der Gucht and Thekla Reuten and was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar in 2001.

A musical comedy, Fanney Khan has Anil Kapoor as a father who wishes to fulfil the dream of his daughter who wants to become a famous singer. It is after 17 years that Anil and Aishwarya are coming together for a film.

India becomes world's sixth largest economy, muscles past France

India has become the world's sixth-biggest economy, pushing France into seventh place, according to updated World Bank figures for 2017.

India's gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to $2.597 trillion at the end of last year, against $2.582 trillion for France.

The country's economy rebounded strongly from July 2017, after several quarters of slowdown.

India, with a population of around 1.34 billion, is poised to become the world's most populous nation, whereas the French population stands at 67 million. This means that India's per capita GDP continues to amount to just a fraction of that of France which is still roughly 20 times higher, according to World Bank figures.

Nirbhaya Rapists Will Hang, Supreme Court Rejects Plea to Review Death Sentence

A year after it had first upheld the death sentence against four convicts in the Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case of 2012, the Supreme Court on Monday dismissed pleas filed by three out of the four seeking review of its earlier verdict.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra and comprising Justices R Banumathi and Ashok Bhushan rejected the review pleas filed by Mukesh (29), Pawan Gupta (22) and Vinay Sharma (23), saying no grounds have been made out by them for review of the verdict.

The fourth convict, Akhay Kumar Singh (31), did not file a review petition against the May 5, 2017 judgment of the apex court.

The court said on Monday that the death row convicts had failed to point out "error apparent on the face of record" in the judgment.

The bench also said that these three convicts were heard elaborately during the stage of their appeal against the Delhi High Court's judgement and no case has been made out by them for review of the apex court's verdict upholding the death penalty.

The apex court in its 2017 verdict had upheld the capital punishment awarded to them by the Delhi High Court and the trial court in the case of gangrape and murder of a 23-year-old paramedic student on December 16, 2012 in the national capital.

The woman was gang-raped on the intervening night of December 16 and 17 inside a running bus in South Delhi by six persons and severely assaulted before being thrown out on the road. She succumbed to injuries at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore after a two-week long struggle for survival.

One of the accused in the case, Ram Singh, had allegedly committed suicide in the Tihar Jail here.

A juvenile, who was among the accused, was convicted by a juvenile justice board. He was released from a reformation home after serving a three-year term.

The 23-year-old victim, on course to be the first professional in the family, was coming home from the cinema with a male friend when she boarded the fateful bus.

The empty bus with the six men in it drove around the city in loops while torturing the woman and her friend. The friend was beaten till he was unconscious while the woman, now known as Nirbhaya, was brutally raped with an iron rod inserted into her private parts that fatally injured her.

Priyanka Chopra worked hard to lose American accent and win Miss India, Miss World

Priyanka Chopra is a woman of many talents. She won the Miss World pageant in 2000, when she was only 17, she’s a bonafide Bollywood star, she starred on popular US television show Quantico for multiple seasons and now she’s taking over Hollywood, film after film.

Oh and did we mentioned how had Priyanka had to work to win the Miss India and Miss World crowns. No we’re not talking about how she stayed in great shape or built a more demure, beauty queen-worthy style.

Believe it or not, Priyanka had to work really hard to get rid of the American accent she had acquired while studying at a US school, before she won Miss India. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Sabira Merchant, who trained Priyanka for the annual beauty pageant, said getting rid of Priyanka’s accent became quite a challenge.

“It was an honest American accent which she had picked up naturally. Nothing was put on. When you are that young, you are impressionable and you pick up the accent you are hearing all around you,” Merchant said.

Merchant also said that Priyanka worked really hard to compete and that she followed her to Mumbai’s SNDT University (where Merchant was teaching then) for her queries.

“I would be like, ‘Now Priyanka we have done enough work. You can relax, you are okay.’ And she would say, ‘No, no, just one more question.’ She was so bent on improving herself. She was so keen that it was just unbelievable,” Merchant said.

Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor portray love and longing in an adorable way : Dhadak Pehli Baar song

After soulful title track and heart-thumping Zingaat, makers of Dhadak have dropped the third song of the movie. The new song, Pehli Bar is a recreation of Marathi song, Yad Lagla featuring Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru.

Composed by Ajay-Atul, who also gave tunes to the original number and penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Pehli Bar has been crooned by Ajay Gogavale. The video of Pehli Bar shows Ishaan Khatter, who is playing Madhukar longing for Parthavi played by Janhvi Kapoor. The song and its video strike a chord with heart as it will remind you of your first love.

In an interview with DNA, director Shashank Khaitan said, ''We have retained two songs from Sairat because they lent themselves beautifully to Dhadak. Pehli Baar is about that innocent first love and a young boy’s desire for a girl he can never have. Without any set choreography, it captures the moment when Ishaan meets Janhvi and gets attracted to her.''

Dhadak, which is a remake of Sairat will hit theatres on July 20. While it is the debut film of Janhvi, Ishaan, who is a half-brother of Shahid Kapoor has already made debut with Majid Majidi's Beyond The Clouds.

UFC heavyweight still obsessed with Ronda Rousey, sends flowers to celebrate ‘Rowdy’s’ hall of fame induction

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight contender, Derrick Lewis, is getting a lot of mileage out of his Ronda Rousey obsession, which started with his UFC Fight Night 105 bout against her husband, Travis “Wife Beater” Browne, back in early 2017.

Apparently, “Black Beast” is still enamored with the former women’s bantamweight champion and her “fine ass,” which can now be seen wrecking shop over at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

“I already sent her flowers,” Lewis told Flo Combat. “You’re trying to distract me. I’ve got to fight extra hard, she might go to the fight. She might be watching. Now I’m nervous.”

Rousey is expected to be in attendance at the UFC 226 pay-per-view (PPV) event this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Lewis fights fellow heavyweight bruiser Francis Ngannou, a few days after the promotion inducts “Rowdy” into the UFC Hall of Fame.

Just don’t expect a Lewis shout-out during her acceptance speech, or that will undoubtedly reinstitute his recent booty ban.

Joe Rogan, like most UFC fans, bothered by Liddell-Ortiz trilogy

The announcement of Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz 3 was met with a collective groan from the mixed martial arts (MMA) community when it was announced, because the idea of watching to ex-champions compete past their primes felt like a cash grab, as Liddell already beat — and finished — Ortiz the first two times they fought.

Fast-forward eight years and the UFC 115 bout that never materialized is being staged under the Golden Boy MMA banner, something that bothers longtime UFC color commentator and podcast extraordinaire Joe Rogan.

“If they want to compete, if it’s because they want to compete, I wonder where it makes sense to tell them they can’t or they shouldn’t?” Rogan said (via MMA Fighting). “Because if they want to do it and they had money - what is it about it? Is it the motivation that bothers me? What is it about a fight like that? I think it’s the motivation that bothers me, a little bit.”

Liddell has been forced to defend claims that he’s broke and Ortiz recently apologized for fanning those financial flames. I’m sure it doesn’t help that “The Iceman” evaporated when UFC was sold back in summer 2016.

“[Chuck] has been saying that he misses it,” Rogan said. It was his favorite thing and he misses it. If we were gonna live forever, I’d say definitely don’t do it because you’re just gonna keep damaging yourself. But if you’re not gonna live forever...”

Major Indian Crypto Exchange Disables Fiat Withdrawals amid Banking Freeze

Zebpay, one of India’s largest bitcoin and cryptocurrency exchanges, is stopping customers’ fiat deposits and withdrawals as a result of the central bank’s banking curbs.

With an announcement on Wednesday, cryptocurrency wallet and exchange platform Zebpay is moving to disable all Indian rupee (INR) deposits and withdrawals for customers as a direct consequence of the central bank’s mandated ban of prohibiting banks from offering services to cryptocurrency firms.

Smartphone-app platform Zebpay, which hit 1 million domestic app downloads late last year, said in its statement:

Today we are disabling the rupee deposit and withdrawal options on the Zebpay app. This is being done in light of the bank account closures as per the RBI guideline.

As reported previously by CCN, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)– the country’s central bank – issued a circular on April 5 to all regulated financial institutions including banks, prohibiting them from providing services to companies in the cryptocurrency sector. The RBI pointedly enforced a three-month deadline for banks to follow the mandate. That deadline comes into effect on Thursday, despite several legal attempts to challenge the RBI-led banking blockade from cryptocurrency exchanges.

In a notice to its users last month, Zebpay had warned that fiat deposit withdrawals could become ‘impossible’, urging users to proactively file withdrawal requests. At press time, a Zebpay user confirmed the exchange was still accepting requests through the mobile application. It is, however, unlikely that the exchange continues to accept requests tomorrow after the ban comes into effect.

Existing users and new users looking to register with the KYC-enabled exchange are greeted with the following message upon opening the application:

England vs Colombia: England beat Colombia on penalties to reach World Cup quarter-finals

England finally ended their penalties curse when they beat Colombia 4-3 in a shootout after drawing their World Cup last-16 clash 1-1 following extra time after the South Americans equalised in the 93rd minute.

England had previously lost all three World Cup shootouts and three of four in the European Championship but prevailed on Tuesday when Mateus Uribe and Carlos Bacca failed to convert, leaving Eric Dier to win the game for England

It was the first time Colombia had been involved in a World Cup shootout and they took first blood when Jordan Henderson missed his spot kick - but for once fortune smiled on England.

Earlier Harry Kane smashed in a 57th-minute penalty, his sixth goal of the tournament, and England looked to be through until Yerry Mina headed an equaliser in the third minute of stoppage time.

It was England's first win in a knockout game since 2006 and earns them a quarter-final with Sweden, who were far from impressive in beating Switzerland 1-0 earlier on Tuesday.
Then comes a potential semi-final against hosts Russia or Croatia with Tuesday's win appearing to vindicate - just - coach Gareth Southgate's decision to field a second-string side in the the final group game loss to Belgium to secure an easier route.

Colombia's hopes suffered a huge setback before kickoff when key playmaker James Rodriguez was ruled out with a calf injury and without him they took a defensive approach and never rarely threatened.

England were always the more purposeful side but they lacked the key final ball and needed a gift to take the lead.
The South Americans had been getting away with blatant holding and wrestling at each of England's many corners and the referee's patience finally snapped when Carlos Sanchez hauled down tournament leading scorer Kane once too often.

After four minutes of mayhem as the Colombians protested, Kane kept his cool and smashed in his third spot kick of Russia 2018.
When Juan Cuadrado blazed horribly over the bar with the goal gaping 10 minutes from time with Colombia's first chance of the match it looked all over for them but there was a fiery sting in the tail of normal time.

England keeper Jordan Pickford made a superb save to touch wide a furious long shot by Uribe but from the following corner - Colombia's first of the match - giant defender Mina rose highest to head in the equaliser and send the massed Colombian fans into a frenzy.

UFC 227 will feature a pair of title fights in the headlining bouts with T.J. Dillashaw and Demetrious Johnson defending their belts against Cody Garbrandt and Henry Cejudo, respectively.

Kim Sharma Denies She 'Beat' Former Domestic Help, Withheld Salary

Actress Kim Sharma's former house-help filed a complaint against the Mohabbatein actress for allegedly "manhandling" her after she "made a mistake" while doing the laundry, reports Mumbai Mirror. Esther Khes, 31, also told added that Kim Sharma did not clear her dues. However, Kim Sharma denied both the allegations. Ms Khes told Mumbai Mirror: "After the clothes were washed, I noticed that a black blouse had bled into a white tee. I realised my mistake and went to tell her about it immediately. She pushed me out of the house, telling me not to return. She even hurled unparliamentary words at me. I tried several times to get my salary. After her final refusal, I lodged a police complaint (in Khar Police station) on June 27."

Meanwhile, Kim Sharma told Mumbai Mirror: "Khes has been told that her dues would be cleared on the seventh. I did not beat her. She ruined my clothes worth over Rs. 70,000. I only asked her to leave after she did that".

Speaking about the police complaint, Esther Khes said that she hasn't been apprised about the status of the complaint while a police official told Mumbai Mirror that a non-cognisable offence was registered against Kim Sharma under several sections. "The complainant can move the court for further legal action as per the law," an official said.

Kim Sharma has also featured in films like Nehlle Pe Dehlla, Kehtaa Hai Dil Baar Baar, Tum Se Achcha Kaun Hai and Zindaggi Rocks

Especially when the party in question is none other than our glam doll homegirl Priyanka Chopra, who by the way seems likes she is absolutely and clearly besotted!

Instagram comments are a thing of the past for Nick and Priyanka. There are Instagram stories being posted and there is an out-and-out expression of love that is happening along with the pictures, the videos. So yesterday, our singer/songwriter Nick was performing in Brazil. In attendance were a lot of starstruck fans, and an apparently lovestruck Priyanka. Proof? She posted this on her Instagram story.

Why wouldn't they, anyway? Apart from Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka and Nick are being scrutinised a lot over the internet. Everyone is waiting for them to come out and just talk about their dating status. And for those of you living under a rock, Priyanka also posted this a while back, when she was vacationing with Nick and some close friends in Goa last week.

Wow. Favourite man and all, Nick Jonas. Well, maybe they are making it official subtly. Or maybe not so subtly. They have already been spotted together at, let's see, a wedding, a vacation, countless dates, a yacht-day-out, another pre-engagement party (that of Shloka Mehta and Akash Ambani), and so on. So while the excitement is building up for us all, maybe the couple is building the whole thing up for us. But we would still love to hear an out-and-out statement. Nothing like a verbose expression of love.

FIFA World Cup 2018: Subasic Stars at Goal as Croatia Beat Denmark on Penalties

Goalkeeper Danijel Subasic was the hero as Croatia squeezed into the World Cup quarter-finals with a penalty shoot-out victory over Denmark here on Sunday.

On a night of late, late drama Ivan Rakitic stroked home the decisive spotkick to ensure the Croats advanced to a last eight meeting with Russia after the two sides finished locked at 1-1 following extra-time.

The Barcelona midfielder's winner came after Milan Badelj and Josip Pivaric saw their penalties saved by Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, who also saved an extra time penalty from Luka Modric.

But Danes Christian Eriksen, Lasse Schone and Nicolai Jorgensen were thwarted by Subasic in the shootout to ensure Croatia won 3-2 and advanced to their first quarter-finals since the 1998 World Cup in France.

The dramatic ending followed early excitement -- but little in between.

In an astonishing start to the match, both teams scored within four minutes via their first attacks.

First, Mathias Jorgensen turned home in the second minute after Croatia failed to clear a long throw-in from Jonas Knudsen, the defender's shot creeping under Subasic to give Denmark the perfect start.

But any hopes they could hold onto their lead vanished within 90 seconds.

With the Nizhny Novgorod stadium still rocking from the frantic start, Croatia went upfield and promptly equalised.

Again, the goal owed more than a little to bad defending when a Sime Vrsaljko cross was hammered by Henrik Dalsgaard into fellow Dane Andreas Christensen and the ball fell obligingly in the penalty area to Mario Mandzukic who scored.

The explosive start -- both sides hit the back of the net within three minutes and thirty seven seconds -- was officially the quickest two teams have ever scored in a World Cup finals match.

The following 116 minutes though largely failed to live up to the first four, fireworks giving way to a damp squib of an encounter as the game edged inexorably towards extra time and penalties.

Billed as a clash between the opposing number 10s, Modric and Eriksen, it instead became increasingly attritional and tactical, with both playmakers unable to find any space.

Instead the player who created most chances was Knudsen with his long throws.

Few clear chances were created by either side until Modric's late penalty miss.

That came after Ante Rebic was fouled in the 116th minute Mathias Jorgensen, with the goal at his mercy.

Vinod Kambli and wife assault singer Ankit Tiwari's father in Mumbai mall

Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli and his wife Andrea Hewitt were involved in an alleged altercation with a 59-year-old man in a Mumbai mall on Sunday.

The man in question here is Bollywood singer Ankit Tiwari's father, Raj Kumar Tiwari and his brother Ankur Tiwari.

Kambli and Andrea have claimed that RK Tiwari deliberately brushed his hand against Andrea while the latter party is alleging that the cricketer and his wife assaulted the 59-year-old man at the Inorbit Mall in Malad.

RK Tiwari has even claimed that Andrea took off her sandal to beat him.

Bangur Nagar police are now investigating the matter and will take further action after their preliminary investigations.

"We were at the Game Zone in the mall around 3 pm when my wife caught hold of an old man's hand. He had deliberately brushed his hand against her and when she caught him in the act, he pushed her away.

"Minutes later when we were at the food court, two men, who we assume were the man's sons, tried to attack my wife. When I told them to back off, they told me, 'You don't know who we are'," Kambli told Mumbai Mirror.

Kambli's wife also narrated the incident and claimed that the man attempted to take "advantage of the crowds".

"I was playing with my children when this guy took the opportunity to rub his hand against me. Maybe he thought nothing would happen because it was crowded. When I caught his hand, I was surprised to see this old man. He appeared embarrassed because I had caught him red-handed.

"He appeared scared, and said something in Hindi, on the lines that 'I cannot do something like this'. The inappropriate touching ka zamaana is over. Such things should be dealt with strictly," Andrea said.

Interestingly, Kambli and Andrea haven't filed any complaints with the police yet but the Tiwaris have lodged an FIR against the cricketer and his wife.

"We are probing the matter, after which necessary action will be initiated. As of now, a non-cognisable offence has been registered," senior inspector Vinay Bane from Bangur Nagar Police Station confirmed.

Ankur Tiwari claims his father was disoriented after the attack.

"My father, a retired bank employee, had accompanied my daughter to the Game Zone. My father told me he spotted Vinod Kambli there, and as he was walking past a woman, he blacked out.

Serena Williams Skips Wimbledon Media Duties for Royal Date With Meghan Markle

Serena Williams postponed her Wimbledon media duties for a royal appointment on Saturday as the American star joined the Duchess of Sussex at a polo match.

Williams is a close friend of Meghan Markle and the seven-time Wimbledon champion was a guest at her wedding to Prince Harry at Windsor Castle in May.

Journalists at Wimbledon were expecting Serena to discuss her first appearance at the Grand Slam since becoming a mother for the first time last September.

But instead the 23-time major winner put her scheduled press conference on hold after a morning practice session with her sister Venus at the All England Club.

Wimbledon officials announced the postponement only minutes before Williams was due in the media room.

Just hours later, Serena and her husband Alexis Ohanian were photographed arriving for the Audi Polo Challenge in Ascot, where Prince Harry and his brother Prince William were among the players.

Williams will be back at Wimbledon for a press conference on Sunday morning, with defending champions Garbine Muguruza and Roger Federer also due to conduct their pre-tournament interviews.

Wimbledon gets underway on Monday, with 25th seed Williams scheduled to play Holland's Arantxa Rus in the first round.

Alia Bhatt chooses a dramatic gold lehenga for the Ambani engagement

Alia Bhatt has the ability to pull off designer looks like few others. Case in point: the actor was spotted at Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s much-awaited engagement ceremony last night in a glittering outfit that had all eyes on her. After attending their pre-wedding sangeet ceremony in a tonal pink Manish Malhotra sari the day before, the actor shone at the Ambani’s Mumbai residence yesterday in a sparkling gold lehenga by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. While many guests chose to go heavy on the bling quotient for this much-awaited event, Alia Bhatt’s look was one of the few that stood out.

Given the nature of the event, Bhatt made sure all the elements of her look came together perfectly, including her accessories. The Raazi actor paired her glittering look with gold chaandbalis from Shrihari Diagems by Anirudh, which complemented her outfit. If you are seeking jaw-dropping earrings to go with a evening look for the upcoming wedding season, take cues from Bhatt’s recent ensemble. Pick from our options.

A lehenga is the ideal go-to outfit for Indian wedding celebrations, be it for the main ceremony itself or for an engagement party. Bhatt’s gold look comprised of a choli, an embroidered lehenga and a sheer dupatta. As is Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s aesthetic, the lehenga featured heavy embellishment that made sure Bhatt stood out among the crowds. Given the busy nature of the skirt and choli, that sheer dupatta balanced her look well. Bhatt kept it subtle in the makeup department, choosing nude lips, kohl-lined eyes and a blow dry to complete her look. Get gold lehengas just like hers here.
