Actor Diljit Dosanjh, who is essaying the role of hockey player Sandeep Singh in biopic Soorma, has lent his voice for a song in the film. A romantic track, the song will make you fall in love with the Punjabi actor-singer again.
Titled Ishq Di Baajiyaan, it showcases the chemistry between Diljit and Taapsee as they play hockey together. Gulzar has penned the lyrics while Shankar Ehsaan Loy has composed the music in the film. The lyrics are sweet and innocent, just like Diljit’s expressions with Taapsee taking the lead in the relationship.
Speaking about the song, Diljit said in a press statement, “I am really thankful to Shaad Ali for this opportunity to sing in this film. I recently did a show with Shankar ji and I used to hear a lot his songs that he has composed in the past. Through this film, meeting Gulzar sahab was a great thing for me because I never had any contacts to get through him. To sing a song which is written by Gulzar and music of Shankar Ehsaan Loy is a big thing for me.”
Sharing the song, Diljit tweeted, “#IshqDiBaajiyaan Lao Romantic Feelingaan.. Kion Ke Sandeep Bhaji Hamare Baut Romantic Hain And Haan Feelings Mai Like & Share Karna Mat Bhool Jana Although Gana Poora Rakhna Chaiye Thaa @sonymusicindia Mazaa Aney Lagta Hai Khatam Ho Jata Hai.”
Earlier, at the trailer launch, Gulzar had said, “When Shaad made me hear the story of the first time my heart became heavy after listening to it. I told Shaad that i will listen to your script later but the real story which you told me was very emotional. I feel there is not just one Soorma but everyone whoever has worked on this project is a Soorma.” He further added, “ I have worked with Shaad on all his projects and I’ve learned the changing cinematic language with all his projects and his spontaneity keeps the story alive”.
