'Race 3 ' box-office collection Day 2: Salman Khan's Eid release mints Rs 63.75 crore

Salman Khan's 'Race 3', which started setting trends even before its release, finally hit the screens on Eid, this Friday.

Despite opening to mixed reviews, the film has managed to work its magic on Salman Khan loyalists and is likely to maintain a strong dominance over the week. The massive promotions, combined with the excitement for a Salman Khan Eid release, seem to have massively favoured the film’s business.
According to reports on Boxofficeindia.com, the thriller had an excellent second day of more than Rs 36 crore which took its two day total to Rs 63.75 crore.

'Race 3' directed by Remo D'Souza boasts of an ensemble cast including Salman, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem in pivotal roles.
If reports are anything to go by, Khan slashed down the promotional budget of ‘Race 3’ and plans to offer the same to charity.

The 'Race 3' team, including Anil Kapoor and Saqib Saleem, also visited the Dr. E Borges Home which is a home for cancer patients from outside Mumbai who get free treatment from Tata memorial.
Meanwhile, Saqib also accompanied Daisy to a center for women with mental health issues in Chennai. On the other hand, Bobby Deol and Jacqueline Fernandez visited the NAB lions home for the elderly blind as a part of their special initiative.

Bigg Boss 11: Meet Haryana's Not So 'Common' Dancer Sapna Chaudhary

Bigg Boss certainly knows how to grab the maximum footage as it has only become bigger and more popular with its every season. The latest installment of the India’s most controversial reality TV show too has all sorts of ingredients to encash its makers’ efforts.

Like last year, this season also the Salman Khan-hosted show opened its door for celebrities and commoners when 11th season premiered last night on Colors. But little did the audience know that one of the commoners among them was not that common. Yes! We are talking about Sapna Chaudhary, who entered the house yesterday as a commoner. Her popularity in North India is as wide as that of a TV star, and you’ll get to know it when you will see her videos on YouTube.

Hailing from Haryana, Sapna is a stage performer, who entertains people with her jhatkas and thumkas. If someone has to really define Sapna in a few words—she is “Anaarkali of Haryana”, who earns her livelihood by simply performing for people on various Haryanvi numbers. Interestingly, unlike Bollywood, Sapna doesn’t require a set of background dancer or fancy attires to make her act a hit. She is too talented and confident of what she does. But not many people know this that this bold lady almost took her life when she consumed poison last year. She apparently attempted the suicide due to online harassment.

In our country, there are still so many who don’t approve of Sapna’s profession. When asked about the same on the show by superstar Salman, Sapna said, “There’s nothing wrong in it. It totally depends on how people perceive things.” Recalling the time when she attempted suicide, Sapna said, “A lot has been changed now. That time I used to get bothered a lot about what others talked about me but now I don’t care. I don’t even listen to them.”

Her attitude towards life surely makes Sapna a deserving contestant on the Bigg Boss this season. We hope she does well.

Race 3 movie review: It’s a mere showreel for Salman Khan fans

During one of the many forced fist fights in Race 3, Salman Khan is getting the better of his opponents when he is hit by a rod. He smirks, turns towards the camera and punches the enemy in face as if he is punishing the man for not recognising the Bhai of Bollywood. The camera doesn’t cut to the rod, which, I am sure, is broken in half by now. Such is Salman’s unparalleled rage and such is the vision of director Remo D’Souza.

Race 3 is everything film students are taught not to do, but then what do they know? From the first scene in which Anil Kapoor blows up a gang member with the help of a pen bomb to Salman coming to the rescue of his family in a base-jump suit, Race 3 unabashedly targets the fans. There isn’t any pretension of logical filmmaking or sound screenplay. It seems Race 3 categorically wants the non-Salman fans to mind their own business.

Shamsher Singh (Anil Kapoor), a runaway criminal from a village near Allahabad, has built an empire in Al-Shifa Island in the Middle East, which was bought by his elder brother for difficult days. Sikander alias Sikku (Salman Khan) is Shamsher’s stepson who runs his illegal arms’ business. Sanjana (Daisy Shah) and Suraj (Saqib Saleem) are Shamsher’s other kids. There is an intra-family rivalry going on among all of them for the control of business and assets. But they don’t know ‘iss khel ka asli Sikander kaun hai (who is the real boss of this game)’. You have seen the trailer, right?

Let’s get back to the race, I mean the story, which starts, speeds up and finishes with black SUVs, airborne fighters and a barrage of bullets.

Consider this example: Sanjana, the cool-headed MMA champ, and Suraj, a mostly screaming psychotic gangster who likes to break beer bottles on his own head, are trapped in the den of an adversary. Shamsher isn’t worried about his children because “Sikander tak message pahuch chukka hai (The message has reached Sikander).” You know what that means?

This means the killing of more than 10 dozen weapon-wielding trained bodyguards and a song thrown in between. The icing on the cake is Saqib’s reaction to his rescue, “What the hell bro!” Exactly, what the hell!

No wonder, Salman introduces himself as, “My name is Sikander, Sikander Singh.” He is James Bond with tonnes of extra confidence. Before I forget, he is Oxford-educated as well.

Dialogues in the film play on a different level altogether. Just when you thought nothing could surpass ‘My business is my business, none of your business,’ Daisy Shah comes up with another gem: ‘Isko dil nahi Dell khol ke dikhao (Don’t open your heart, switch on your Dell laptop)’.

Race 3 actors Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez face Netizens’ ire for ‘forcing’ child to hug even after he said no

Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez have come under sever flak on social media for ‘forcing a child’ to hug Fernandez during the promotion of their upcoming film Race 3 on a TV show. Fernandez had posted a clip of the show on her Instagram handle that shows her and Khan coaxing a young boy, a contestant, to give her a hug. On being asked if he was willing to, he said “nahi (no), explaining “mann nahi kar raha (I don’t feel like it.)”

Albeit in a playful way, the actors then go up to the stage and ensure that the boy hugs the actress, when his body language (after he clearly said no earlier) shows no inclination towards the embrace. However, the act seems to have irked netizens who now say the actors, as responsible and well-known personalities, should have known better than “violating a child’s consent”. “Regardless of whether the child was joking or not (I personally don’t think he was, look at body language, Salman turned it into a joke), when asked if he wanted a hug he said “nahi”. The word no came out of his mouth and that gives nobody the right to go and hug him anyway. As far as “sabhi bachho ke saath hota hai” is concerned, well that doesn’t make it okay. It only means that adults don’t understand that the concept of consent also applies to children,” read the comment of Anushka C, one Instagram user.

She was just one among many who took to slamming the actors for going against the child’s wish to not give her a hug. Fernandez’s caption under the video read: Kids usually love me, this boy was an exception.. at least I got my hug in the end.”
