A bantamweight clash between Pedro Munhoz and Brett Johns was officially announced for UFC 227 in Los Angeles, Calif., on Aug. 4.
Munhoz (15-3, 1 no-contest) was riding a four-fight winning streak between 2016 and 2017 prior to his recent decision loss to John Dodson at UFC 222, including stoppages over Rob Font and Justin Scoggins.
Johns (15-1) is also trying to get back on track after a decision loss to Aljamain Sterling earlier this year, the only defeat of his MMA career. The former Titan FC champion currently holds a 3-1 UFC record with wins over Joe Soto, Albert Morales and Kwan Ho Kwak.
UFC 227 will feature a pair of title fights in the headlining bouts with T.J. Dillashaw and Demetrious Johnson defending their belts against Cody Garbrandt and Henry Cejudo, respectively.
